Shri Krishna’s Leela in the days of Sanjhi

During the Saraswat Kalpa, it was said to Radhaji that she should worship Mata Sandhya devi, also known as Sanjhi Mata, who embodies love. Worshiping her is believed to grant the boon of an ideal match.

Radhaji’s sole wish was to be united with Nandalal in his true form, which led Radharani to join her Sakhis in preparation for this festival. Our Prabhu became aware of this festival and wished to join, but the issue was that only a Gopika could perform this worship.

The Lord resolved to join the worship with the companions. Then, our playful Kanha donned the guise of a Sakhi and went to Barsana as Shyama Sakhi.

Upon arriving in Barsana, Shri Krishna as Shyama Sakhi joined the Sakhis in preparation. They began gathering flowers.

During this worship, the Gopikas create Sanjhi on the walls- The Wall Art. They offer Bhog to them.

The Sanjhi worship spans 14 days of devotion, culminating in a grand aarti – Kot Aarti on the 15th day. It is believed that this 14-day worship leads to the attainment of Prabhu of the 14 Loks.

Through the worship of Sandhyadevi, the Gopikas achieved the supreme fruit Maharas, inform of  Prabhu Shri Krishna, the sovereign of the dance.

This enduring tradition, which has been ongoing since time immemorial, is still celebrated in the same manner today. The beautiful practice of wall paintings continues in Vraj, and this Wall art form remains alive not only there but also in states like Gujarat, Malwa, Rajasthan, and others.

In these times, unmarried girls, under the guidance of elder women, create stunning divine wall paintings using cow dung for the purpose of obtaining a worthy groom. Then, they offer Bhog to Sanjhi Mata and sing her songs. This remarkable tradition of pictorial Wall art is still preserved today.

Sanjhi in Pushtimarg 

The Pushtimarg is a path enriched with various forms of arts, dedicated to the pleasure of the Prabhu  Shrinathji throughout the year.

Culinary arts (Cooking, decoration, crafting, singing, Classical Music, Classical dance, adornment, makeup artistry, and rangoli are among the many arts meticulously and expertly employed in seva. Among these, the art of Sanjhi is one.

In Pushtimarg, during these days, the creation of Sanjhi is undertaken in front of the  Thakurji in all Pushtimargiya temples and in the homes of Vaishnavas who perform seva of Thier Sevya swaroop. Various types of Sanjhi are presented before Shrinathji.

There are fundamentally four types of Sanjhi in Pushtimarg.

1) Sanjhi Made of Flowers: Which possesses the bhava of Shri Swaminiji |

Method to Create Sanjhi on Water by Acharaya H.D.H Param Pujya Goswami Shri Anvay Goswami ji

Sanjhi is adorned in Such four distinct styles, representing the diverse locations of the 84 Kos of Vraja Mandal, including forests, Kunjs, ponds, and ghats, each reflecting the various Leela of the Shri Krishna.

सांझी प्रारंभ श्रीनाथजी दर्शन

पुष्टिमार्ग सांझी प्रारंभ

सांझी – आज से पुष्टिमार्गीय मंदिरों में सांझी का प्रारंभ होता है | श्रीजी मंदिर में कमलचौक में हाथीपोल के द्वार के बाहर आज से पंद्रह दिन तक संध्या-आरती पश्चात चौरासी कोस की व्रजयात्रा की लीला की सांझी मांडी जाती है |
सफेद पत्थर के ऊपर कलात्मक रूप से केले के वृक्ष के पत्तों से विभिन्न आकर बना कर सुन्दर सांझी सजायी जाती है | एवं उन्हीं पत्तों से उस दिन की लीला का नाम भी लिखा जाता है | भोग-आरती में सांझी के कीर्तन गाये जाते हैं | प्रतिदिन श्रीजी को अरोगाया एक लड्डू सांझी के आगे भोग रखा जाता है | और सांझी मांडने वाले को दिया जाता है |

आज प्रथम दिन व्रजयात्रा की सांझी मांडी जाती है |

यह सांझी अगले दिन प्रातः मंगलभोग सरे तक रहती है | और तदुपरांत बड़ी कर (हटा) दी जाती है |

आज से सांझी को आरम्भ होवे।संध्या आरती के पीछे हाथी पोल की डेली ख़ासा करके ,फुलघर वाले सांझी मांढे।आज वृजयात्रा मंढे।

साज : – आज श्रीजी में दानलीला एवं सांझीलीला के चित्रांकन वाली पिछवाई धरायी जाती है | गादी, तकिया एवं चरणचौकी पर सफेद रंग की बिछावट की जाती है |

वस्त्र:- सुथन,दोनों काछनी,पीताम्बर सब गुलाबी मलमल के ठाड़े वस्त्र स्वेत भातवार पिछवाई सांझी के भाव की,चितराम की।

आभरण:- सब हीरा के।बनमाला को श्रृंगार। श्रीकर्ण में कुंडल । कस्तूरी,कली व कमल माला धरावे । मुकूट टोपी जड़ाऊ । दान के दिन में चोटीजी नहीं आवे । मुकूट पे मुकूट पीताम्बर धरावे। पट गुलाबी, गोटी मोर की।
