Story of Separation between Shreeji & Shri Gusaiji

Once, In Nitya Lila, Prabhu Shri Krishna promised Lalita Sakhi that He would visit her Kunj. Filled with enthusiasm, Lalita Sakhi adorned herself and prepared for His arrival.

As Shri Krishna set out to visit Lalita Sakhi, He came across Chandravali’s Kunj. With the loving invitation, Chandravali beckoned Prabhu to her abode.

Forgetting His promise to Lalita, Prabhu entered Chandravali’s Kunj and stayed there for six months (earthly time). When Lalita became aware, she became sad Shri Radharani came to know about the entire Prasang.

Swaminiji, accompanied by Lalita Sakhi’s companion, went to Thakurji. Realizing everything, Swaminiji declared that Prabhu had caused her friend six months of separation.

And now He must abide by Lalita’s words for the same duration. And those who kept Prabhu away from Lalita must endure six months of His Seperation.

When the age of Kali arrived, the Lord incarnated as Shrinathji, Swaminiji as Mahaprabhuji, Chandravali as Gusaiji, and Lalita Sakhi as the poet Krishnadas Adhikari, a partial manifestation.

Story continuous on Earth

Once, after the Rajbhoga, Shrinathji told Ramdasji of His hunger. Ramdasji informed Gusaiji, who realized that the time of complete the unfinished task of the Golok dham was near.

perform seva as much as you can now, for it will be difficult to obtain seva later. Gusaiji prepared the Rajbhog again and offered it Before Prabhu. After the Shrinathji, Gusaiji himself takes the prasadam and distributes Prasadam to all the Vaishnavas.

They joyfully accepted the prasad. Krishnadasji arrived, and although he held authority, he was unaware of the circumstances. Krishnadasji remarked with satire, “You are the doer and the enjoyer! Why wouldn’t it taste good?”

To which Shri Gusaiji replied, “Yes, we are enduring what we have wrought,” a statement laced with irony and connected to both the immediate context and the eternal Lila.

Previously, Shriji Bawa had commanded Krishnadasji, “A divine task is to be accomplished through you, which may disrupt both your worldly and spiritual realms. Will you undertake it?” Krishnadasji, eager to obey Prabhu’s command and for His pleasure, agreed to the task.

Krishnadasji prohibited Shri Gusaiji’s seva and darshan of Shrinathji.

He also entrusted the service of Shriji Bawa to Shri Purushottamji, the son of Shri Gopinathji, who was the first son of Shri Mahaprabhuji.

Kasumba chhath | Shri Purushottam ji

Shri Gusaiji, who regularly enjoyed the company of Shriji Bawa, found it challenging to compose the extraordinary text “Vignapti.” It was belived that the creation of this work could only be accomplished by feeling the separation of Shriji Bawa. This was the primary reason for the unfolding of this comprehensive lila.

Chandra Sarovar

chandra sarovar parasoli

Shri Gusaiji visited Parasoli Chandrasarovar, where there was a window in Shriji’s temple facing Parasoli. After Krishnadasji left, Shriji Bawa would appear at the window in the evening to grant darshan to Gusaiji.

One day, Krishnadasji witnessed this scene and immediately had the window sealed the next morning, intensifying the separation between them. Shri Gusaiji ceased to partake in the offerings. After the Rajbhoga, Ramdasji would bring the charanamrit and prasadi bida to Gusaiji.

Shri Gusaiji would prepare a garland of flowers for Shriji Bawa, inscribing verses of separation, which were established as Vignapti.

Along with the garland, the Vignapti was sent to Shriji Bawa through Ramdasji. Shriji Bawa would read Shri Gusaiji’s Vignapti and respond with a letter written from the ‘Bida Pik’, sending it back to Shri Gusaiji.

Shri Gusaiji read the response and then dissolved the same bida in water to consume. He spent six months on such Bida. Shri Gusaiji’s consumption of Shrinathji’s response-laden Bida in the water meant that Shriji’s replies were not revealed.

Only the Vijnapti composed by Shri Gusaiji came to light. This sequence lasted for six months, with both forms experiencing separation from each other. Then one day, Birbal arrived in Gokul.

Not finding Shri Gusaiji, he paid his respects to Shri Giridharji and inquired about the absence of Gusaiji’s darshan for a long time. Shri Giridharji informed him that Krishnadasji had restricted Gusaiji’s darshan, hence he resided in Parasoli, expressing regret for not being in Shrinathji’s seva.

At that time, Birbal was in charge of Mathura’s military. He immediately sent 500 soldiers to bring Krishnadasji to Mathura and imprisoned him. The news reached Gokul, and Shri Giridharji traveled from Gokul to Parasoli at night.

Girdharji implored Shri Gusaiji, to resume the seva and adornment of Shrinathji. Gusaiji asked, “Has Krishnadasji agreed?” Shri Giridharji replied, “No, Birbal has imprisoned him, so now Aapshri can come.”

Gusaiji then said, “Such distress for Shri Mahaprabhu ji’s devout servant Krishnadasji! Until he returns, We won’t take food or water.” Hearing this, Shri Giridharji immediately went to Mathura and conveyed Gusaiji’s command to Birbal.

Birbal then approached Krishnadasji and said, “See, Shri Gusaiji is so distressed by your suffering that he is not even consuming food or water, and yet you have treated him thus.”

“If you do such a thing again, I will not spare you”. Accompanied by Shri Giridharji, Krishnadasji arrived in Parasoli. Upon seeing Krishnadasji, Shri Gusaiji stood up with joy.

Krishnadasji prostrated himself, touched Gusaiji’s feet, and pleaded, “Please forgive my transgression and please return to the seva of Shri Govardhananathji.” On the day of Ashadh Sud 6, Shri Gusaiji resumed his seva to Shri Govardhananathji.

Aapshri adorned Prabhu with a kasumbi pagh and handled the seva until Shayan. Afterward, Shri Gusaiji draped Krishnadasji with an official’s shawl in front of Shrinathji and commanded, “Take charge of our Govardhandhar.”

Overwhelmed with emotion, Krishnadasji composed a verse that is popular today:

परम कृपाल श्री वल्लभ नंदन करत कृपा निज हाथ दे माथे l
जे जन शरण आय अनुसरही गहे सोंपत श्री गोवर्धननाथे  ll 1 ll
