Kan Jagai – Gokarna Jagran

Kan Jagai is also known as Gokarna Jagran. This Utsav in the Pushtimarg Templs is usually celebrated on the night of Diwali; day before Annakut. Thakorji along with Gops & gopis proceeds towards the Gaushala and invites the cows by whispering in their ears to participate in Govardhan Pooja. He requests them to come early and after the invitation was given. Prabhu plays with them for a while.

घरमेंसुं बाहिर उठि आये सब गायनके कान जगावन ॥जेसें भोर हूंकके खेलें लागे लेले नाम बुलावन ॥ ९ ॥

गांग बुलाई धूमर घोरी कारी काजर पीयरी लाल ॥ अपने संग सखासब लीनें लटकत डोलत खरिक गोपाल ॥२ ॥ अ

पनी जगाय दाउकी जगाई ओर जगाई सबकी जाय । श्रीविट्ठलगिरिधर सुखपावत वजनारिन त्योहार मनाय ॥३ ॥

Meaning : 

Gopal Along with sakhas and Baldau  enters into gaushala with his Cute Walking style.

and waking up all the cows by anouncing their names. Anouncing each one’s names such as Gang, ghumar , Kari , Kajri , Pili , Lal and Inviting them by whispering into their ears. waking ups Baldau’s cows also the everyone’s cows.  by seeing Prabhu’s divine play all the Gopis of Vraj Celebrating the Festival
