Unkown Shri Krishna Story

Unkown and Cute Story from Saraswat times of Shri Krishna Attached with Akshay Tritiya.

Shri Bal Krishna’s Mundan Sanskara

In the pastoral lands of Vraj, where cow herding was the mainstay, young boys were traditionally not allowed to herd cows in the forest until they had undergone the ‘Mundan Sanskar’, a hair-shaving ceremony.

Bal Krishna watched daily as the men of his family and neighborhood left to herd the cows, yearning to join them. Yet, Mother Yashoda would gently remind him, “You are still too small, my child. Grow a little more, then you can go.

One day, upon seeing his brother Balaram set off to herd, Krishna protested, “If Balaram can go, why can’t I? Just because he’s older?

Mother Yashoda explained, “Balaram has had his Mundan, so he can go. Once you have yours, you’ll be able to go too.

Krishna pondered, “Should I keep my lovely curls or go herd the cows?” After much thought, he decided that while his hair would grow back, he shouldn’t miss out on the joy of herding.

He implored Nanda Baba, “Please arrange for my Mundan tomorrow. I want to herd the cows.

Nanda Baba chuckled, “We can’t just do your Mundan like that. Your ceremony will be a grand affair.”

But Krishna was impatient, “Do whatever preparations you need, but I must go herding. Please arrange my Mundan quickly.”

Knowing the Mundan was inevitable, Nanda Baba sought an auspicious date from Gargacharya, which coincided with Akshaya Tritiya. Invitations were sent out, and the village buzzed with excitement and preparations.

The day arrived, and amidst a grand gathering of guests from neighboring villages, Krishna’s Mundan was performed.

श्रीकृष्ण का मुंडन संस्कार

Right after, Krishna turned to Yashoda, “Mother, give me my Kalevu(Breakfast). I’m going to herd the cows.

Yashoda, slightly annoyed, replied, “So many guests have come to see you, and you want to herd cows in this heat? Wait a few days until it cools down, then I’ll send you with Balaram.”

But Krishna stood firm, “I had the Mundan so I could herd cows. I wouldn’t have cut my beautiful hair otherwise. I don’t care; I’m going to herd today, right now.”

Yashoda called for Nanda Baba, “He won’t listen. Please accompany him a little way. It will calm his mind. I won’t send him alone or with Balaram in this heat.

Nanda Baba agreed, and they set off, Krishna was fully equipped with a stick, flute, and a food pack, and even took a calf with him, feeling content that he was finally grown up.

The heat of Vaishakh month was intense in Vraj. Soon, Krishna felt overwhelmed by the heat but refused to admit defeat. If Yashoda had been there, she would have understood and taken him home, but with Nanda Baba, they kept walking.

Not far ahead, Lalitaji and some friends saw Krishna’s condition. They saw Krishna is tired, he has Mundan so Heat is affecting him badly. His face is Sweaty and becomes Reddish because of heat.

गोचारण लीला

Lalitaji took him to a nearby Kunj, seated him in the cool shade of a Kadamba tree, and fetched sandalwood paste, melon seeds, sugar crystals, cardamom, and other items from home.

With loving care, they applied sandalwood paste on Krishna’s body and head. They made sweets from the sugar and melon seeds and prepared a refreshing drink with cardamom and sugar water, which they offered to Krishna with great affection. Lalitaji fanned him until he fell asleep.

After resting, Krishna woke up, and Lalitaji escorted him back home, marking his first step into the responsibilities of growing up.

Akshay Tritiya in Pushtimarg , Chandan Yatra , Akshay Tritiya pushtimarg seva kram , Shrinathji darshan , Shrinathji Patotsav govardhan jatipura

In our Pushtimarg tradition, the sequence of seva is so intricately designed that it gradually transitions from one season to another. For instance, post-Dolotsav, the Shitkalin (winter Season) Seva routine slowly diminishes, and with the advent of Chaitra Nav Varsh, Ram Navami, and the festival of Mahaprabhuji, the Ushnakalin (summer Season) seva routine incrementally increases until it fully commences today.

From today onwards:

SAJ :

– All Saj such as Tera, etc., are white.
– At bedtime, a Chhint mattress is placed on Shaiyaji, and over it, a white muslin sheet is laid. This arrangement for Shaiyaji continues until Ashadh Shukla Purnima.
– Items like Venuji, Jariji, Sihhasan, Bantaji, and Padgha are changed from gold to silver. From today,White Kunjas are also being offered to Prabhu along with Zariji. The Nevda for Jariji is also white.
– From today, a pair of Khas fans is placed behind the Sihhasan.

Today is also known as Chandan Yatra. From today, Sandal is offered to Prabhu for several days. There is a particular method for applying sandalwood: it is ground and strained through a muslin cloth with water, and then mixed with saffron, Baras, perfume (Khas or rose), rose water, etc., to form pellets. The first pellet is placed on Prabhu’s chest, the second on the right Shri Hast(Hand), the third on the left Shri Hast, the fourth on the right Shri Charan, and the fifth on the left Shri Charan.

VASTRA :

– From today, Shreeji is dressed only in summer garments like Pichoda, Aarband, Pardhani, Dhoti-Uparna, and Mallkach. Lalan is only adorned with a Chunari. Shrinathji will be dressed in light, cooling colors like white, Aragjai, pink, Champai, Chandaniya, etc. After Jyeshthabhishek (Snanyatra), darker colors can be worn again.

SHRINGAR :

– From today, adornments of pearls, Chhip, sandalwood, and flowers can be used. These days will also mark the beginning of adornments with Mogra flower buds.

Shit Upchar (Cooling Treatments):

– Cooling treatments are performed for Prabhu’s comfort in the heat.
– From today until Janmashtami, every evening during Aarti, Thakorji is offered a drink prepared with cool water, sugar, rose water, cardamom, Baras, etc., known as Panna (sharbat). Drinks like Nimbu Panna are also served.

Since Chaitra Nav Varsh, the Lord has been adorned with a Flower mandali. Then, Khas bungalows are placed. In front of Shreeji, fountains are kept during the seva. At home, Also Nav Manorath is arranged in this season.

From Today onwards Kirtans are also being sung of Summer season.  Kirtans From Mangla to Shayan can be found in below E-BOOK
