Parmanand Das Ji: A Bhakti Poet’s Journey of Spiritual Awakening
After the construction of the new temple, Shri Mahaprabhuji along with his two beloved sons beseated Shrinathji on the throne. Shri Vallabhacharyaji entrusted the seva of Shrinathji to his Vidhya Guru, Madhvanand Yati as Guru Dakshina.
Krishnadasji was made the Adhikari, and then Shri Vallabh returned to his divine abode, Adel.
After a while, Deva Kapur Kshatriya came there with water, and by following him, Paramanand Swami came to Shri Mahaprabhuji’s home. At the request of Deva Kapur Kshatriya, Shri Mahaprabhuji initiated Paramanand Ji with a name offering.
And initiated him into the Bramhasambandha. The Dasya Bhav emerged, and now Paramanand Swami became Paramanand Das. He would sing kirtans in front of Shri Navneetpriyaji from time to time.
During the Anausar time, he would sing kirtans of Brijlila in front of Shri Mahaprabhuji. One day, suddenly, Paramanand Dasji sang an extraordinary Pad in front of Shri Mahaprabhuji and made an Alaukik(nonmaterialistic) request.
Yah Mango Shri Gopijan Vallabh Mangu Manas Janam Aur Hari Seva Bridge Basivo Dijo Mohi Sulabh
Shri Mahaprabhuji was traveling southward, but upon hearing this Pad from Paramanandji, Aapshri realized that his state of devotion was complete and now he must be taken to Brij.
They traveled together towards Brij. On the way, they passed through Paramanandji’s village, Kannauj, where Parmananddasji brought his disciples into the shelter of Shri Vallabh.
Shri Mahaprabhuji, with his grace, visited his home. Paramanand Das served Aapshri very well. Shri Mahaprabhuji himself prepared the Samgri and offered it to Prabhu.
After the offering, he sat on the bench and told Paramanand Das to sing the Pad of divine plays of Shri Krishna. Then Paramanand Das Ji thought that Shri Mahaprabhuji must be feeling the separation from Govardhannathji, so he sang a wonderful Kirtan of separation. Upon hearing the Pad
‘Hari Teri Leela Ki Sudhi Aave’
Shri Mahaprabhuji fainted. He was immersed in the divine play that the Pad depicted.
On the fourth day, when Aapshri came back to consciousness, all the Vaishnavas were extremely delighted to see him, but Paramanand Das Ji was a little scared.
By the grace of Shri Mahaprabhuji, He decided that from now on, I would only sing about the Bal Leelas of Shreenathji. Then, taking all the Vaishnavas, Shri Mahaprabhuji traveled towards Brij.
They arrived in Gokul, and the Lilas of the Saraswat Kalp were inspired in Parmananddasji. Shri Vallabh bestowed such wonderful grace that Shri Paramanand Das Ji was blessed with the Darshan of the amazing childhood pastimes – Divine play of the Balkrishna in Saraswat Kalp.
Where all the Brajwasis are Roaming here and there, and the Prabhu Shri Balkrushna is performing Leelas in His child form. Having witnessed such enchanting Lila, a devotion of Bal bhava was established in the heart of Paramanand Dasji.
And since then, he has composed and sung Pads about the Prabhu’s Ballila. At the time of Utthapan, Shri Mahaprabhuji took them to Gopalpur.
After seeing the beauty of Shrinathji, which Shame even crores of kamadeva, Paramanand Dasji became absorbed. He continued singing kirtans until Shayan.
Then Paramanandji settled at Surabhi Kund. He stayed there for the rest of his life, singing kirtans in the Seva of Shreeji Bawa every day. He held great Love for the Vaishnavas. Shriji Bawa also greatly enjoyed his kirtans.
Parmanand das ji has Emmense Love and utmost respect for Vaishnavas as well. When Bhagwadiya Vaishnavas visited his house, He became overjoyed and created Pad for Vaishnavas..
