Kumbhandas Asht Sakha Varta prasang & jivan Darshan
In Vikram Savant 1466, on the third day of the dark half of the month of Gurjar Ashadh, the upper Raised arm of the Shrinathji Appeared from the central peak of the sacred Govardhan Hill.

On the fifth day of the bright half of the month of Shravan, a brijwasi came to Govardhan Hill in search of his lost cow and had darshan of the divine arm. He shared this wonder with everyone, and people came to see it.
There were many small villages at the Taleti of Govardhan Hill, one of which was named ‘Jamunavata’ due to the flow of the Jamuna River. A Brijwasi from the Gorava Kshatriya community named Dharmadas lived there.
He had 400-500 cows, one of the cow which was named ‘Ghumar.’ One evening, Ghumar did not return home, which worried Dharmadas. He had a nephew named ‘Kumbhan,’ who owned a piece of land from his father where he farmed and grazed cows.
Kumbhan was very hardworking. Dharmadas told Kumbhan they would go look for the cow. Kumbhan was tired and did not feel like going, but for some reason, he felt an extraordinary voice inside him saying, ‘Hurry, Kumbhan, I am waiting for you.’
Both uncle and nephew went searching for the cow and reached the peak of Girirajji, where they saw the cow spontaneously offering her milk to a stone; even when pushed, she did not move.
Both the uncle and nephew heard an extremely wonderful and sweet voice from within, ‘Hey! Dharmadas, this cow is not an ordinary cow. It is from the lineage of Nandarayji’s Cow, and I really love its milk. Due to your village being far away, it is getting delayed for cow to coming in here.
Do one thing, there is also a cow named Surabhi at the head of Aanyor, ‘Sadupande’, which is also from the lineage of Nandarayji’s cow. It used to come to me for milking but has not been coming for some time now. So, you do one thing, leave your cow at Sadupande’s place so that the cow can come here quickly. If Sadupande asks, make some excuse.’
After that, the voice came again, ‘Hey! Kumbhana, you are my sakha ! Come to play with me every day. I will wait for you.’ Hearing this, Kumbhana fainted. After regaining consciousness, both uncle and nephew took their cow to Sadupande’s place and left it there with an excuse. Then, every day Kumbhana would go to graze the cow, the cow would graze the grass, and Kumbhana would sit in front of the shreeji and play with Him daily.
All the residents of Brij asked the shreenathji, ‘You fulfill all our wishes. We are worshipping your divine arm. Now please come out of the cave and grant us the darshan of your divine form.’ Then Shriji Bawa gave Aagya(order), ‘Not now, when the one who is to bring me out will come to Brij, then he will bring me out.’

On the day of Chaitra Vad 11, in the year V.S. 1535, the divine incarnation of Shri Krishna Shri Vallabh Mahaprabhuji Appeared on earth.
On the day Shri Mahaprabhuji appeared, On the same day for the first time the Shreenathji gave the Divine Darshan of His Divine Mukharvind (lotus face) to the Brijwasi.

After the appearance of the divine face, for 14 years, He performed numerous Divine Plays(Lilas), captivating the hearts of the Brijwasis.
It can be said that if grace was showered upon anyone the most, it was upon Krishna Sakha Kumbhan Ji; Shrinathji would play with him daily, have him massage his hands & head,

take him to the homes of the Gopis to steal butter, then run away, leaving Kumbhan Ji to face the consequences. In this way, a profound friendship developed between them.

After 14 years, the Shreeji Bawa gave Aagya to Shri Mahaprabhuji in Jharkhand, ‘O Vallabh! I can no longer bear your separation, and My Lila Shrushti has arrived in Brij. And Now I want to perform Divine Play with them. You come to Braj quickly and Bring Me out from the cave.’
Shri Mahaprabhuji, leaving his southern pilgrimage incomplete, arrived in Braj and then visited the home of Sadu Pandey.

At night, all the Brajwasis gathered at Sadu Pandey’s place, and they narrated all the Divineplay of Shreeji to Shri Vallabhacharyaji. Mahaprabhuji Educate everyone about the Shrinathji’s Swaroop. In the morning, Shri Vallabhacharyaji initiated everyone into Brahmasambandha, and then for the Very first time, there was a reunion between beloved Priya Priyatam.

This Reunion is known as Pratham Milan of Shri Mahaprabhuji and Shrinathji.
Shri Mahaprabhuji Beseated Prabhu Shrinathji on a throne in a small temple. And personally prepared various Samgris(Dishes) with his own hands and Offer to Shreeji. For the first time in many years, Shrinathji accepted Sakhadi Bhog.
Then, Shri Mahaprabhuji entrusted the seva of the Shrinathji to Ramdasji Chauhan.

Kumbhandasji sang the kirtans very sweetly, describing the wonderful Divine plays of the Shri Krishna, hence he was given the Seva of kirtan.

After becoming a Vaishnav through the Brahmasambandha initiation with his family, Then Kumbhandasji began to receive divine inspirations of Prabhu’s Lila and sang beautiful kirtans in front of Shreeji, Which gives joy to Shrinathji. He would go to Girirajji from Jamunavata daily to have darshan, witness the Lilas, and sing kirtan.

Often,Prabhu would visit Kumbhandasji’s home and play there. He would listen to stories,
accept Samgris made by Kumbhandasji’s hands,
and showered his grace upon Kumbhandasji in many ways. Kumbhandasji would compose new Kirtans daily and sing in front of Shrinathji. His Pads became popular everywhere, and people were amazed upon hearing them.
Even Emperor Akbar had heard and praised his compositions. People began to sing his Pads. Kumbhandasji had no attachment to the material world and was always busy in the Shri Krishna’s Leela.
He could not bear separation from the Shreenathji; if he missed darshan for even a day or two, he would become restless. For this reason, he always remained in front of the Prabhu, constantly caring for Shreeji’s happiness and comfort.
