A Swami from an Antari village had a great eagerness to attain the Lord. Once Vaishnav came and said that currently, a miraculous person has Prabhu under his control, so it is difficult to meet Prabhu now.

That miraculous person is Shri Vitthalnathji, who is currently residing in Gokul. The Swami’s name is Govind Swami, he became eager and went to Gokul to meet Shri Gusaiji.

He saw that Shri Gusaiji has gold and silver utensils, it is materialistic Maya, how would Prabhu meet him? As soon as he went to meet Shri Gusaiji, Shri Gusaiji called out in front, “Come! Govind Swami, we have been waiting for you for a long time.”

Shri Govind Swami was stunned, he thought, I have never met them before, yet how do they know my name? Shri Gusaiji brought Govind Swami to Navneet Priyaji in Gokul.

Govind Swami had a darshan, he had a darshan of Prabhu’s Swaroop which Shame even crores of kamadeva. The Bhagavad Leela was inspired in inner self, but he had a question in his mind.

He came to Shri Gusaiji and asked, “Kripanath! The Prabhu is present in your place, then what is the need for Vedic rituals like Sandhya Vandana?” Then Shri Gusaiji explained to him very simply that “Bhakti is a rose flower and the protection of the rose flower cannot be done without thorns.

Just like this, the protection of this Bhakti-like flower can only be done with the thorn of Vedic Karma. The protection of the path of Bhakti can only be done with Vedic Karma. Shri Govind Swami was satisfied.

He requested Gusaiji to take shelter in their lotus feet and with the order of Shri Gusaiji, he went to take a snan and  He had taken  Brahmasambandh from Shri Gusaiji. He received the seva of Shrinathji, Kirtan seva, and sang very wonderful Kirtans.

The Lord also liked his Kirtans very much. Many Vaishnavs sang the Padas of Govind Swami in front of Shri Gusaiji, Shri Gusaiji was pleased. Vaishnavs also told Govind Dasji that Gusaiji is very pleased with your Kirtans.

His Sakhya Bhav was connected with Shreenathji. Like Kumbhandasji, Gopinathdas Gwal,  Govind Swami also had an internal friendship with Shriji Bawa.

Govind Swami had many disciples in Antari village.  his old disciples came to meet him. At that time at Govind Swami’s home, his sister was there and told his disciples that he had gone for Snan. disciples went to Jashoda ghat to meet him.

The disciple could not recognize him and started asking where is Govind Swami. then Govind Swami said Govind Swami had died long ago. disciples Came back to his home. At that time Govind Swami also came back. This time disciple recognized him. and said why do you say that Govind Swami died long ago.

Then Govind Swami replied, “If not died yet! will die”. He means to say that Govind Swami died. This is Govind Das.

Shreeji Bawa used to come to play with him every day. It was a very wonderful, unique, and supernatural internal friendship. Govind Das lived on the hill of Mahavan and sang Kirtans.

Madan Gopaldas used to come to write Kirtans every day. Thakurji also used to come to listen to Govind Das’s Kirtan every day. Once Govind Dasji said that you come here every day to listen to Kirtan, you take the trouble to come from far away.

You must be interested. You also have practice, so you should also sing. Then the Prabhu himself sang, to listen to that singing, Swaminiji herself came. Then the sound of Taal started echoing, and Govind Swami started praising his fortune… started saying Dhanya hai, Dhanya hai.

Then Madan Gopal Das, who was sitting on the side, said to Govind Dasji that there is no human being around here, who are you talking to? Then Govind Dasji remained silent. Kept the Prasang confidential.

And when Shri Gusaiji asked Govind Dasji how Shri Krishna sings? Then Govind Dasji said, He sings very beautifully, but Swaminiji gives the best rhythm and melody. This was a daily routine. Shri Gusaiji’s fourth Lalan, Shri Gokulnathji, would also come to listen to this singing.

Govind Swami would sing, and Prabhu would listen. Prabhu would sing, and Govind Dasji would listen. When Govind Dasji sang, Prabhu would point out mistakes.

In the same way, one day on the Shyam Dhak, Shri Goverdhannathji was playing the flute on a hill. Govind Dasji was sitting on another hill and watching. All the other Sakha were also there.

Then Shri Gusaiji was coming for Uthapan after taking a bath. Shriji Bawa’s gaze fell on him and he jumped in haste to come to the temple and due to this Aapshri’s clothes got stuck on a tree, it tore and a piece got stuck on the tree and he quickly came to the temple.

When Shri Gusaiji opened the door of Nij Mandir for Uthapan, he saw that the clothes were torn. Shri Gusaiji asked everyone else if anyone had come, then everyone denied it, then Shri Gusaiji was thinking.

Then Govind Dasji came and said, what are you thinking, you do not know the characteristics of the son, how fickle he is. He jumped from the Shyam Dhak in haste and the clothes tore and a piece got stuck on the same tree.

Come and see. Then Gusaiji went and saw and the piece of cloth was the same. Then Shri Gusaiji asked Shriji Bawa, “Bawa! What was the hurry for?” Then Shriji Bawa said, “Kakaji! It was time for Uthapan and you were coming from Snan, so I was in a hurry. ” |

Then Shri Gusaiji created a well-organized routine in which

“at the time of Uthapan, the bell is rung three times, the conch is blown three times, then wait for 20 moments, and then open the door of Nij Mandir, so that Shriji Bawa does not have to take Parishram to come from the game.”

Such a supernatural intimacy was established with Govind Dasji. The Lord could not live without him. He composed many Kirtans in the seva of the Shrinathji.

Once, Shrinathji was playing with a friend named Kanha. Kanha was a child of a sweeper. When the signal for the temple’s Aarti occurred, Shrinathji started moving towards the temple.

Govind Swami thought about how they repeatedly ensure purity before serving Him, being very careful not to touch anything impure. And yet, Shrinathji was leaving just like that.

Govind Swami stopped Shreenathji, saying, ‘You cannot go like this. There are purity rituals for the temple. You were playing with the sweeper’s child. Purify yourself – bathe and then come.’ Shrinathji said, “Look, I have no desire to bathe. I will not do it.“

Govind Swami insisted, “You must bathe.” Shrinathji replied, “It’s too cold! I will not bathe.”  A big argument ensued. When Shrinathji was not relenting, Govind Swami said, “Alright, don’t bathe. Just do an ‘Achman’” (take a sip of Yamuna water.)

Shrinathji agreed. As soon as He bent down to sip water from the Yamuna, Govind Swami pushed Him from behind right into the water. Shrinathji got completely drenched.

Then Govind Swami helped Him out. Shrinathji entered the temple in wet clothes. Gusaiji saw and asked, “Bawa! What happened?” Shrinathji replied with frustration “I was just sipping water, and Govind pushed me.”

Gusaiji asked Govind Swami, & Govind swami replied ‘There are purity rituals for your temple. We take precautions every day. We ensure purity. But your son comes playing with anyone, touching anyone. I pushed him for the temple’s purity, to make him bathe.’

Such was the amazing and intimate friendship between Shrinathji and Govind Swami. They could not be without each other. They always cared for one another. Govind Swami always considered Prabhu’s comfort, bringing Him joy, and playing various games with Him, like playing ‘Gilly Danda’. Shrinathji would ride on Govind Swami’s back.

Gusaiji also praised their close friendship. The friendship of Govind Swami cannot be measured by the standards of the scriptures. His feeling of companionship had become deeply ingrained in his heart.
