Shri Mahaprabhuji, within the Pushtimarg tradition, has given paramount importance to four out of the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu:

  • Narasimha Avatar
  • Vamana Avatar
  • Rama Avatar
  • Krishna Avatar

The underlying sentiment is that in these avatar’s deeds, the Lord has showered his grace on his devotees, who are devoid of any means and are the epitome of selfless devotion. ‘Grace’ here is synonymous with  ‘Pushti’.

Hence, in the Pushtimarg tradition, fasting is a revered practice during the appearance celebrations of these four avatars, especially on their respective Jayantis.

The primary reason for having a fast is to purify ourselves internally before the Lord graces us with his presence. By fasting, we prepare to stand before Prabhu, to behold his divine form, and to celebrate his auspicious festivals with a pure heart and soul.

Today is the Appearance day of Shri Rama Bhagwan. This Festival Possesses strong importance in the whole Bharat Country.

here is a common misconception that ‘Jayanti’ is celebrated for those who have passed away, but the scriptures do not support this notion. The term ‘Jayant’ signifies one who is always victorious, which is why one of Lord Vishnu’s names is Jayant.

In the Skanda Purana, ‘Jayanti’ is defined as the date that brings victory and Punya (merit). According to Vastu Shastra, a date when all planets are in their topmost exalted positions is called ‘Jayanti’. It is not something that can be associated with an ordinary human being.

Gopinathji Prabhucharan comments on Ram Navmi Bhava in pushtimarg :

श्रीकृष्ण हस्यारूपेण प्रमदाभावकारक: ।
तदर्थे प्रकटाय त्वां भजामि रघुनायक ।।
यथैवाग्निकुमाराणाम भावम उत्पाध्य दत्तवान
वरं में कृपया देहि तथा देव नमोस्तुते।

O  Raghunath, you manifest as the delightful (Smile) form of Prabhu Shri Krishna. Through your darshan (divine vision), the sentiment of pramada bhava (the feeling of complete surrender and devotion) becomes evident.

O Prabhu! In the Dandakaranya forest, you awakened the pramada bhava in the hearts of the Agnikumaras (fire-born sages) and granted them blessings that their desires would be fulfilled in Krishna’s avatar.

Similarly, I too serve you with the same sentiment. Although Prabhu Shri Ram is considered equivalent to Prabhu Shri Krishna due to their divine nature, they both manifest in different ways.

In the words of Paramanandadasji:

*हमारे मदन गोपाल हैं राम*

Prabhu Shri Ram’s Pushti Lila :

  1. When the ocean needed to be bridged for Prabhu Shri Rama’s journey to Lanka, stones were being Put on the Ocean. However, the stones sank. When Prabhu Rama’s name was inscribed on the stones, they floated. This illustrates that whoever remains connected to the Prabhu can overcome obstacles, while those who remain disconnected from Him drown in the material world.
  2. Shri Rama also ate the Tasted berries offered by Sabari, a woman of the Bhil tribe. Sabari had pure love for the Bhagwan. Impressed by her devotion, Prabhu Rama visited her home and blessed her. This too exemplifies the Pushti leela of nourishing devotion.
  3. Prabhu Rama freed Ahalya from the curse of being turned into a stone by Sage Gautama. By touching her with His Lotus feet, Prabhu transformed her back into a human form. This incident also highlights the Pushti Leela of Prabhu Rama.
  4. Shri Rama granted the residents of Ayodhya access to Vaikuntha (the divine abode). Without any specific efforts, the people of Ayodhya received this blessing through Prabhu’s grace. This too is part of Prabhu Rama’s Pushti Leela.

Shrinathji Darshan – Ram Navmi 

राम नवमी पुष्टिमार्ग श्रीनाथजी दर्शन

सभी द्वार में डेली मंढे,बंदरवाल बंधे।चारो समय थाली की आरती उतारे।जमनाजल की झरीजी।गेंद चौगान,दिवला सोना के।अभ्यंग।राजभोग में सिल्लू की मंडली,पाट आवे।राजभोग के दो दर्शन होवे।

वस्त्र:- खुले बन्ध(तनी बाँध के घरानों),कूल्हे ,केसरी जामदानी की।सुथन लाल छापा की।पटका किनारी के फूल वालो,केसरी।ठाड़े वस्त्र स्वेत जामदानी के।पिछवाई लाल दरियाई की,बड़े लप्पा की(जन्माष्टमी वाली)।

आभरण:- सब उत्सव के।बनमाला को श्रृंगार।हीरा की प्रधानता।नीचे पदक,ऊपर माला,दुलड़ा,हार उत्सव वत धराने।कस्तूरी,कली सब आवे। बघनखा धरावे।कुंडल उत्सव के।

बाजू, पोची,पान, शीशफूल हीरा माणक के।चोटीजी हीरा की। श्रीमस्तक पे पाँच चन्द्रिका को जोड़।वेणु वेत्र तीनो हीरा के।मोती को कमल धरावे।पट उत्सव को,गोटी जड़ाऊ।आरसी श्रृंगार में चार झाड़ की,राजभोग में सोना के डाँड़ी की।

राजभोग सराय के पहले राजभोग के दर्शन खुले । बालकृष्ण लाल के पंचामृत होवे।शुद्ध स्नान करके पीताम्बर ,माला धरावे।दोनों स्वरूप के तिलक,अक्षत होवे।दर्शन बंद होवे उत्सव भोग आवे।भोग में बूंदी,सकरपारा,दूध घर को साज,कच्चर चालनी,शागघर की सामग्री,फल फूल, दही भात,शीतल आदी अरोगे।फिर दूसरे राजभोग के दर्शन में आरती हो के नित्य क्रम से अनोसर होवे।

राम जन्म मानत नंदराई प्रथम फुलेल

रंग केसर वागो कुलही, आभूषण पहिराई ।
