Nanddas ji’s Unique Journey to become Vaishnava
In a village named Sihanand, a Kshatriya lived, the whole family was a disciple of Shri Gusaiji. A 17-year-old young man in village Sihanand was passing by the house of this Kshatriya family in the village, lost his way.
Then the young wife of the Kshatriya catches attraction of his eye and he becomes so attracted to her beauty that he starts coming there every day until he sees the woman’s face, he does not leave from there.

He did not understand even after convincing by The family. The family was worried and left the village and set out to come to Gokul to Shri Gusaiji. They came to Yamunaji and sat in the boat.
That Young man also reached behind them. There was a place for one to sit in their boat, yet the family gave more money to the boatman and talked about not letting that young man sit and set off towards Gokul.
That young man stood on the shore. The family came to Gokul, and bowed to Shri Gusaiji, Shri Gusaiji gave Aagya to them to take the Patar Prasadi. There were seven people in the family and 8 Patars were prepared.
The family saw that one more plate was laid, curiosity could not remain, and asked Shri Gusaiji for the reason. Then Shri Gusaiji orders that you have paid the fare for 8 people for the boat, so we will also have to prepare the same way.
Shri Gusaiji commanded, “That soul has followed you with great effort, and you will partake in the Mahaprasad without him. The virtuous act has been initiated from you by Prabhu, and now we must complete it.”
Shri Gusaiji then ordered his disciple to bring the young Brahmin.

The disciple immediately went and brought the young man in front of Shri Gusaiji. Then Shri Gusaiji commanded, “Come, Nandadas! We have been waiting for you.”
Once Nandadasji had the darshan of Shri Gusaiji, all his materialistic lusts turned to ashes. Shri Gusaiji seated him to partake in the Mahaprasad. As soon as Nandadasji took a morsel of the Mahaprasad.
he was immediately immersed in the divine Leela of Shri Krishna and remained seated as he was. After a while, the disciple came to Shri Gusaiji and pleaded, “Krupanath ! The young man is still sitting as he was, not even taking his plate.”
Shri Gusaiji, knowing his divine mental state, commanded, “Do not call him. Let him be. Let him get up on his own.” Nandadas spent the entire night in that state, sitting as he was.
In the morning, Shri Gusaiji arrived, placed his hand on Nandadas’s head, and commanded, “Get up, Nandadas ! It is time for darshan.” Nandadasji opened his eyes and pleaded…
“Prabhu ! Ever since I became sensible, I have been entangled in materialistic matters and have also troubled others. You have graciously removed all my materialistic attachments, now kindly accept me in your shelter.”
Then Shri Gusaiji initiated him into the Name Nivedan. Then Nandadasji composed and sang a Pad,
“Jayati Rukmani Nath Padmavati Pranapati Vipra Kul Anandakari”
and
“Pratah Samay Shri Vallabh Sutkon Punya Pavitra Vimal Jas Gao.”
Then Shri Gusaiji took him to Gopalpura. There, when Nandadasji had the darshan of Shri Govardhananathji and was immersed in the Leela of the Shri Thakorji, he sat in front of the Shrinathji and sang the Kirtan.
“Ghar Nand Mahar Ke Mis Hi Mis Aave Gokul Ki Nari.”
Then Shri Gusaiji, understanding his state, commanded him to associate with Bhagavadiyas like Kumbhandasji, Surdasji, and Krishnadasji for a few months.
Then in V.S. 1607, Shri Gusaiji appointed Nandadasji to fill the vacant position of Vishnudasji in the Ashtachap Mandal.
Nandadasji would have the darshan of the divine Leela and compose and sing Pads in front of the Shreeji. Now, he had become a Sakha of Shrinathji.
